A film about Marilyn Monroe‘s time in England in 1956 is to premiere at the New York Film Festival.

It will premiere during the two-week festival on 9 October.

Directed by Britain’s Simon Curtis, the film is based on a week that British writer Colin Clark spent with Monroe filming the romantic comedy, while on honeymoon with her husband, playwright Arthur Miller. Blue Valentine actress Michelle Williams stars as Marilyn Monroe in the film. #marilynmonroemovie

The thigh-high boot is going strong for fall. You have seen these sexy staples all over the runways for the Fall 2011 season. The shape can be either super skinny (à la Rodarte and Isabel Marant) or relaxed and easy (per Etro and Dries Van Noten); obviously the latter is a little more forgiving. There are lots of covetable designer pairs in stores already, like Ralph Lauren’s Coura Suede Thigh High Boots ($1,300) so if you’re going to invest, you probably should take the plunge soon.
