Rihanna gets a surprise fan hug on Today show

Rihanna appeared this morning on the “Today” show to kick off the summer concert series. And also, apparently, to get a very special “hug” from a fan.Okay, it was more like an unexpected grab than a hug. During her performance of the song “S&M,” the songstress with the coral-colored ’do made her way past numerous onlookers who were snapping photos and cheering from behind barricades. But one guy managed to reach over and embrace Rihanna while she was in mid-lyric, prompting her back-up dancers to step in and free her. The incident was clearly unexpected but not serous enough to cause major alarm, or throw the “Umbrella” lady off her game. She forged on, singing “Only Girl (in the World),” “What’s My Name” and “California King Bed.” Watch video of those performances after the jump.
